I have received very positive feedback concerning the Christmas and New Years Group Sanchin sessions. Based upon the response, I think it is appropriate to regularly schedule similar group sessions. Remember, the group concept is fulfilled not by our being physically together at one location, but rather, by each person performing Sanchin simultaneously as described in the session parameters. These sessions will be known as our “Sanchin Pilgrimage.” Each Sanchin Pilgrimage will have a specific theme designed to enhance your Sanchin experience.
Here is our next Sanchin pilgrimage – a SUNRISE SANCHIN Pilgrimage.
As the dawn heralds a new day, our path for the day unfolds. The path may be one of joy or sorrow. The path may unfold gently or with great challenge. Such events matter not as we, the Sect Of Sanchin, know that the following considerations are axiomatic:
- we will either embrace the day’s gentleness or rise to the day’s challenge;
- we accept sorrow as a part of joy, pain as a component of comfort and hardship as a seed to abundance and;
- no matter how the day’s path unfolds, we will grow and be better persons for walking it.
With the above in mind, I present the
SUNRISE SANCHIN Pilgrimage:
Session Parameters:
Date: Saturday, January 21st, 2012
Time: Sunrise (do not adjust your time – notwithstanding that Sanchin will be performed at different times throughout the United States, the key component is that it be performed as the sun rises and gives birth to the day);
Location: each person shall choose a location; however, Sanchin must be performed outdoors, in nature and you should be facing the rising sun.
Salient Points:
Before you begin your Sanchin performance, perhaps while standing in the “Mukso” position described on the Sanchin DVD, reflect on the axiomatic considerations above.
As you perform your Sanchin, perceive and be cognizant of the following:
- During inhalation, while your bio-energy remains in the hara, understand that the air you breathe includes microscopic particles of light (called photons) which are born of the sun. As the air fills your lungs, allow the sun’s energy, in the form of these microscopic photons, to enter your body. As you do this appreciate the scientific fact that it takes light particles eight minutes to leave the sun and arrive on earth. As you see the sun, it’s light is already eight minutes old. Thus, you are contemporaneously experiencing a past event; a spiritual form of time-travel;
- During the brief transition from inhalation to exhalation, allow the sun’s energy to commingle with your bio-energy in your hara;
- As you exhale, dynamically tensing your physical muscles and spiritually expanding your bio-energy from your hara throughout your body, allow the sun’s energy to course through your body. As the commingled bio-energy and sun’s energy fill your body (like a balloon), allow the commingled energy to be released from your body into the natural environment that surrounds you, rising eventually to the sun itself;
- Repeat the above with each breath.
- The last requirement of this Sanchin Pilgrimage is to remain in an enraptured physical, spiritual and metaphysical state throughout the day by way of the concept of “Zanshin” (the “remaining mind” which is discussed in my Sanchin DVD and Book).
After you have concluded Sanchin in this manner, you will have experienced the full effect of the “Three Battles” (or aspects) of Sanchin. The first two of the three aspects of Sanchin, namely the physical aspect and the spiritual aspect have been enraptured by the sun’s energy. The third aspect of Sanchin, the metaphysical aspect, has been consummated by the commingling of your bio-energy with the energy of the sun. You have intermingled with the energy of the sun and universe! Similarly, the sun and universe has received energy from not only you, but each and every member of the Sect Of Sanchin. We are, therefore, bound unto each other through the exchange of our efforts and energy.
All scheduled Sanchin sessions shall be posted on this blog and subsequently archived in a new category called “A Sanchin Pilgrimage” which you may find in the “Categories” on the right side of this page. You may wish to not only perform Sanchin as scheduled, but may also revisit the specific pilgrimage and perform the Sanchin described in each session as an integral part of your regular Sanchin practice.
In closing, I am proud of each and every member of our Sect. Sanchin is what we make of it, so let the Sanchin experience be as profound an experience as we can make it.
